Payal Arora: “If you’re not looking at the Global South, you’re putting your business at high risk”
On my travels as an author and speaker, I encounter many interesting people. For this series I took the plunge to invite them into my hotel room and interview them. And it all starts with the question: “What have you binged lately?”
The first person on my bed is Payal Arora. She is a digital anthropologist from India and she teaches as a professor in technology, values and global media cultures at Erasmus University Rotterdam. Her book ‘the next billion users’ made me realize that our western-centric worldview is blinding us from an inevitable and interesting truth: the world is changing fast and the west is not setting the tone anymore.
