Meet Marianna Bretz and learn all about content marketing in Brazil

In 2019, when I was speaking at Content Marketing World, I met Marianna Bretz. And Marianna is a journalist and content marketeer with her own agency in Brazil. After my presentation, she came to me and we exchanged our details. Still, it took almost a year before we got in touch again. I e-mailed her about the fact that my book was translated and now available in English, and I wanted to send her a copy. And then we got into an interesting e-mail conversation and after that, also in Zoom chats. She wanted to learn more about Binge Marketing, and I got curious about content marketing in Brazil in general.

In the last couple of months, we really got to know each other. Both professionally and personally. When we discussed Binge Marketing versus branded content, we found out that branded content in Brazil is not the same as it is according to, for example, what the Content Marketing Institute says. So, Marianna, working in content marketing for 13 years already, dove into the subject and wrote this great article about it. And now she is on a mission to transform and professionalize content marketing in Brazil. With a bit of binge, a bit of branded and lots of content.

“I discovered that the definition of branded content – a term used in Brazil in its translated form, “conteúdo de marca” – isn’t homogeneous nor explicit”

~ Marianna Bretz

I admire that and I am happy that I can help her with that mission. We launched an extra page in Portuguese with some of our blog articles. A few of mine are translated into Portuguese and the articles Marianna shares will be published in English on my website. I am really privileged being able to work, share and learn with people, women, like Marianna.
